What is Photo Respot?

Photo Respot is an AR rephotography app that documents how places change over time. Capture a spot, then return weeks, months, or years later to photograph it again from the exact same position. Build a visual timeline of change.

How does the ghost overlay work?

When you revisit a spot, Photo Respot shows your previous photo transparently on the camera viewfinder. Using GPS and compass data, it guides you to the exact same position and angle so your photos align perfectly.

What is the timeline slider?

The timeline slider lets you drag to seamlessly blend between past and present photos. If you have multiple time points for a spot, it creates an interactive timeline so you can see how a place evolved over time.

What are sound layers?

Sound layers let you record audio at your spots to capture how places sound over time. A busy construction site might become a quiet park — sound layers preserve those audio memories alongside your photos.

Is my data private?

Yes. All your photos and recordings stay on your device and your personal iCloud account. AI analysis happens entirely on-device — nothing is sent to external servers. See our Privacy Policy for details.

What does Premium include?

Free users get up to 5 spots and 1 sound recording per spot. Premium unlocks unlimited spots, AI change detection, unlimited sound recordings, private mode, and advanced reminders.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through Apple. Go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone, find Photo Respot, and select Cancel Subscription.

How do I restore my purchase?

Open Photo Respot, go to Settings → Upgrade to Premium, and tap "Restore Purchases" at the bottom of the paywall screen.

How do I delete my data?

Go to Settings → Delete My Data. This removes all spots, photos, recordings, and preferences. You can also uninstall the app to remove all local data.

How do I export my data?

Go to Settings → Export My Data. Your spots, metadata, and recordings will be exported as a JSON file that you can save or share.
