Eplep.ai ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Pantry Pal mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

- Pantry items: Names, quantities, expiration dates, and categories of food items you add
- Shopping lists: Items you add to your shopping list
- Photos: Images you capture of food items or receipts (stored locally and in your iCloud)
- Preferences: Your notification settings and app preferences

- Device type and operating system version
- App usage statistics (anonymized)
- Crash reports and performance data
Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email, or contact information unless you contact us directly
- We do not track your location
- We do not access your contacts, photos, or other personal files (except photos you explicitly capture in the app)
- Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
- Health or fitness data
- Financial information (payments are handled by Apple)
How We Use Your Data
- To store and sync your pantry inventory across your devices
- To send you expiration notifications
- To provide recipe suggestions based on your inventory

Data Storage
iCloud Sync
If you enable iCloud sync, your app data is stored in your personal iCloud account. This data is:
- Encrypted by Apple
- Only accessible by you
- Synced across your devices
- Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy
We do not have access to your iCloud data.
Local Storage
If you do not use iCloud sync, all data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
No Third-Party Servers
Your data is never sent to our servers or any third-party services.
Third-Party Services
Open Food Facts
When you scan a barcode, we query the Open Food Facts database to retrieve product information. Only the barcode number is sent; no personal data is shared. Open Food Facts is a non-profit, open database. Learn more at openfoodfacts.org.
Apple Services
- App Store: For app distribution and in-app purchases
- iCloud/CloudKit: For data synchronization (if enabled)
- StoreKit: For subscription management
- Apple Push Notifications: For expiration reminders

Data Retention
- Local data: Retained until you delete the app or clear app data
- iCloud data: Retained until you delete it or remove the app from iCloud

Data Deletion
You can delete your data at any time:
- In-app: Go to Profile → Delete Account
- iCloud: Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage → Pantry Pal → Delete Data
- Uninstall: Deleting the app removes all local data
Security
We implement appropriate security measures:
- All data is stored using Apple's secure frameworks
- iCloud data is encrypted in transit and at rest
- No data is transmitted to external servers
Children's Privacy
Pantry Pal is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such data, please contact us immediately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by updating the "Effective Date" above.
